Hayes Apartments, the new luxury apartment scheme in the heart of Cardiff above St David's, is celebrating after seeing a surge in sales.
The scheme has seen an influx in activity with five new sales in this last week alone.
The sales surge ties in with the latest research from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Wales which provided evidence of a return of confidence in the property market in Wales.
Cathy McLean, director of RICS Wales, said: ''Our Housing Market Survey shows that things are finally picking up with an increase in new buyer enquiries and sales in Wales. Potential buyers are out there and as we see more positive signs, confidence levels will continue to grow and the property market will recover.
''I have long been a champion of the St David's scheme as it is helping to regenerate the city, something which is needed now more than ever. This is a rare opportunity to live right in the city centre and it is also a very sustainable way of living as everything is in walking distance of your front door, especially if you work in the city as well.''
Property consultant Catherine Maunder believes that the increase in sales at Hayes Apartments is a boost for the city centre property market.
Catherine, of Thomas George which is joint agent for Hayes Apartments with Michael Graham Young, said: ''The increase in sales that we have seen in the city centre is great news and shows that there is more confidence in the property market. One of the unique selling points of Hayes Apartments is its location. The apartments are right in the heart of the centre of Wales' capital city and are above the newest shopping destination in the UK. They also have extraordinary views of the city, surrounding valleys and even out to the Bristol Channel.
''There is more activity in the property market at the moment and we are definitely starting to be more a return of confidence in the market. This is evident in the increase in enquiries from cash buyers who are experiencing lower returns on their money in the bank and are keen to get their money working for them.''
Hayes Apartments is at the forefront of the city's residential regeneration with a selection of properties ranging from studios through to one and two bedroom apartments and spacious duplexes. Situated above St David's, the new development will provide 304 new luxury homes high above the hustle and bustle of the city. In addition to a landmark location, Hayes Apartments will also offer rooftop courtyard gardens for residents.
Catherine continued: ''Cardiff is an up and coming cosmopolitan European city and a lot of work has gone into its regeneration. Hayes Apartments is in its early stages of sales and is benefiting from an increase in demand from owner-occupiers wanting to buy in the city centre. There are limited opportunities to live in the city so people are seeing this as an exclusive opportunity to do so.''
Phase One of Hayes Apartment is now on sale from just £99,950. For more details, visit the show apartment at the marketing suite in St Mary Street, Cardiff, call 029 2066 6693 or visit www.hayes-apartments.co.uk
