Rugby couple purchase home at Hayes Apartments

12 November 2009

A rugby-mad couple from Lampeter has purchased a city-centre home at luxury development, Hayes Apartments, to use as a base for Wales' matches.

Emyr, 58, and Eirian Jones, 56, who have seven grandchildren, decided to buy the two bedroom apartment above the St David's shopping centre, to be close to the Millennium Stadium as well as Cardiff's city-centre bars and restaurants.

The couple has debencher seats at the Millennium Stadium and they usually spend an average of £3,000 on hotels over the year when they travel to Cardiff to watch the Wales Internationals and Six Nations matches.

Emyr Jones said: ''We've been coming to Cardiff for every game for the last five years or so and we thought it would be worthwhile to look into buying a second home here.

''When we were in Cardiff for the Autumn Internationals last year we visited the Hayes Apartments marketing suite on St Mary Street and decided that it would be worth investing in. We originally thought we might buy a second home in the Bay but when we had a look round the Hayes development we thought they had so much more to offer and it's fantastic to be right in the heart of the city.

''Whenever we're in Cardiff we always go for a meal at Giovanni's so it's great that we'll have an apartment that's right opposite the restaurant! The apartment is also a good investment for our grandchildren and it means that our family will have somewhere to stay when they need to.''

Emyr and Eirian purchased a two-bedroom apartment in Block 3 of the development which is fitted with two bathrooms, open plan kitchen, lounge and diner with a decked terrace.

Jan Eldridge, residential sales and marketing manager at Hayes Apartments, said: ''We were exceptionally pleased with the level of enquiries and sales we've had at Hayes Apartments and we are really excited to see such a surge of interest in the development. We wanted Hayes Apartments to be unique and we feel that the courtyard gardens are the perfect finishing touch to the high specification apartments.''

The final interior finishes of the first phase at Hayes Apartments are now nearing completion above St David's shopping centre in Cardiff city centre. With access to all the new shops, restaurants and cafes, Hayes Apartments offers 304 high specification studio, one and two bed apartments, all with access to its unique rooftop courtyard garden.

Studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments are available at Hayes Apartments, many with balconies, terraces and en-suite bathrooms. Prices at Hayes Apartments start from just £99,950.
